Professional Ethics

    Home Topics Professional Ethics

A profession is a paid occupation, especially one that involves prolonged training and a formal qualification. The people who engage in a profession are termed as professionals. Professional ethics are principles that govern the behaviour of professionals or professional groups in a work environment. This may include rules on how a person should act towards other people and institutions in such an environment etc.

In this topic, we are explaining professional ethics and duties of various people/professionals. This includes doctors, clinical psychologists, advocates etc. who are all governed by a set of laws specific to the profession. For instance, the work of an advocate is governed by the Advocates Act, 1961 and Bar Council Rules. If you are aggrieved with the services provided by professionals, you have every right to complain against them. Please note that more professions will be added over time in this topic. If you have any specific queries or suggestions, you can leave them on our Ask Nyaaya page, given here.
