Last updated on Apr 23, 2026

If you are a woman, then you have additional grounds for a divorce. You can request for the dissolution on these grounds as well:

  1. If your husband has married before and that wife is alive at the time of your marriage.
  2. If your husband has been guilty of rape, sodomy or bestiality after you got married.
  3. If an order has been passed against your husband awarding maintenance to you.
  4. If your marriage was performed before you were fifteen years and you have rejected the marriage after turning fifteen but before eighteen years of age.
