If your Ration Card is damaged or lost, you can approach the Circle Office, and ask them for a duplicate Ration Card. You will be given a new Ration Card, with the same details as your original. To get a duplicate Ration Card, follow the steps given below:
Step 1 – You should go to the Circle Office, and tell them that you need a duplicate Ration Card, on the basis of which, you will be provided with the relevant application form.
Step 2 – You should fill out the application form.
Step 3 – You should submit the relevant documents. Generally, you will have to submit an FIR for the Ration Card, if it is lost.
Step 4 – You should get your documents verified.
Step 5 – You should collect your acknowledgement slip.
Step 6 – You can then collect your Ration Card/get it delivered. Some states have the facility to download it online. For example, in Delhi, you must download it.

*Procedure to apply for duplicate ration card* if original is totally damaged, stolen or misplaced.
Apply In-Person
1.In order to obtain a duplicate ration card, Please approach the ration office of your area OR The Inspector Food & Supplies or Sub Divisional Controller Food & Supplies under whose jurisdiction the person is currently residingas applicable.

3.Please go to the respective office.
4. Applicant shall obtain the form from the respective office (please pay for the form if required) Or a written/electronically typed application on A4 plain sheet as advised shall be used.
5.The Head of Family Must write a letter stating the reason behind a new ration card request and attach the remains of original ration card (in case of damaged ration card) or the copy of report registered with police station (in case of lost or stolen ration card).
6.Please submit the completed application along with required documents to the respective authority.
7.Authorities after checking the submitted application along with attached documents will make entries and provide you record number for reference.
8.Keep it safe for future reference.
9.This application will be processed internally to issue the ration card as per notification.
