Go to Police Station
You can file an FIR at any police station or the one nearest to you. A friend or relative can also file an FIR on your behalf. However, you will have to give a statement which a woman police officer will record.
You can call on 100 to seek immediate help from the police. After describing your location, a police unit will be sent to you for further assistance.
You can approach the cyber cell of the Police to complain about sexual harassment that you faced online. For example, you can file a complaint online with the Delhi Cyber Cell.
National Commission for Women
You can call 1091 which is the Helpline Number of the National Commission for Women:
- Call 1091
- Describe the crime in detail
- Give your address and contact number
The police will then be sent to your address to assist you with the steps you need to take next. Any kind of violence against women including sexual offences and domestic violence can be reported to 1091.
1091 Helpline will send a police unit to you as soon as possible.
