Dear Sir,
My kid was born on 15th May 2019. We want to join him in UKG in Kendriya vidyalaya or CBSE Board. But due to new government rules , kids born before 31st March 2019 are eligible for UKG. SO I need to join my kid in LKG. Immediately after joining my kid in LKG he will be 5 years old. If this happens my kid will be studying his 1st standard at the age 7 years but not 6 years. By the time he completes his tenth he will be 17 years old. Then my kid will have a less chance for competitive exams and entrance exams for a further study.
Is there any option for kids age. Previously it is May 31st. All their cousins and friends will be in the next class which hurts him mentally due to the age gap of one and half month. Please kindly suggest me how can we come across this problem.

In India, educational regulations and eligibility criteria are typically overseen by state and central education boards. The parameters for admission to various classes, including UKG and LKG, are determined by these boards and are subject to change based on governmental policies. Your child’s birthdate falling just outside the eligibility criteria for UKG admission presents a challenge, but there are several avenues you might explore. Firstly, it’s worth reaching out directly to the Kendriya Vidyalaya or CBSE Board where you intend to enroll your child. Sometimes, schools have provisions for exceptions or discretionary admissions in unique cases such as yours. Alternatively, you could consider researching other schools in your area that may have different eligibility criteria or more flexible policies regarding age requirements for admission to UKG. If you believe that the eligibility criteria are unjust or discriminatory, seeking legal advice could be an option. Legal professionals specializing in education law can help you understand if there are any legal avenues available to challenge the regulations.
