    Indian law prohibits child marriage but leaves it to the children to decide whether they want to cancel the marriage or not if the marriage has taken place. However, this can only be done once they become adults, i.e, age of 18. there are punishments for those male adults who marry girls below the age of 18 years and those who either promote, participate or perform any child marriages.
