Talha Abdul Rahman is an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India, with a distinguished career of 17 years spanning across constitutional, criminal and civil law. Mr. Rahman graduated from NALSAR University of Law and was awarded the Shell Chevening Scholarship to pursue Bachelor of Civil Laws (BCL) at the University of Oxford,. He is also a former fellow of the Peter McMullin Centre of Statelessness, Melbourne Law School.
He presently serves as Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, at the Supreme Court of India, having previously held the position of Junior Standing Counsel for both the Income Tax Department and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence. A published legal scholar, his works address bail jurisprudence, statelessness, constitutional law, and digital copyright. He has also contributed to Ask Nyaaya, a WhatsApp-based AI chatbot designed to answer legal queries and bring accessible legal guidance to the common public. His latest book “In Chambers: A Young Lawyer’s Guide to Practice, Ethics and Advocacy” reflects his steadfast commitment to democratising legal knowledge in India.
