This explainer discusses the right to abortion and conditions for abortion in Indian law. The primary law being dealt with is the The Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Act, 2021 and the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Rules, 2021, which amended the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971 (MTP Act), and the associated Rules and Regulations.
