The government has created containment zones across States, which refer to specific geographical areas where positive cases of coronavirus are found. In such areas, strict movement restrictions are put in place, and in these zones, you are not allowed to step outside your home, even for buying the essential commodities. For example, in Delhi, areas like certain parts of Malviya Nagar, E-block East of Kailash, etc. are containment zones.
The Ministry of Home Affairs put out a revised order No.40-3/2020-DM-1(A) on the 15th of April with revised guidelines on measures to be taken by Ministries/Departments of Government of India, State/UT Governments and State/UT authorities for containment of COVID-19. All the activities indicated in this guideline will not be permitted in the hotspot areas. There will be no inward/outward movement of population from these zones except for maintaining essential services like medical emergencies, law and order etc.
