    Disobeying a Traffic Officer

    Disobeying a Traffic Officer

    It is mandatory to obey a traffic officer and all directions given by him1. If you disobey a traffic officer or obstruct him in his discharge of functions, you can be punished with a fine of Rs. 2,000, or the fine amount corresponding to the specific offence committed by you2.  The applicable fine amount might vary across states.

    Given below are the fine amounts for two states:

    Refusing to Give Information to a Traffic Officer

    If you are asked to supply certain information, and you willfully withhold it or give the officer information you know to be false, you can be punished with jail time of up to 1 month or a fine of Rs. 2,000, or both, or the punishment corresponding to the specific offence you have committed3. The applicable fine amount might vary across states. 

    Given below are the fine amounts for two states:
