Protecting stray animals during the Covid-19 pandemic

The Madras High Court has asked the State’s Animal Husbandry department to draw up a holistic plan for the general treatment of stray animals in the State during the lockdown and afterwards. The Court further asked them to consider a plan for vaccinating stray dogs and cats if necessary, or collaring them in the best interests of the animals and the humans they come into contact with during the Covid-19 pandemic.
